“When God raised up His servant, Jesus, He sent Him first to you people of Israel, to bless you by turning each of you back from your sinful ways.” Acts 3:26
Peter is talking to the people of Israel, the ones who had rejected Jesus and had Him crucified because they did not understand the true reason of His coming. They were looking for an earthly messiah, not a heavenly one. Peter basically tells them that they had made a huge mistake in their treatment and rejection of Jesus, because God sent Jesus to bless them by transforming their lives.
This is something that we all must understand as well, because the Bible, especially the new testament is full of passages that explain to us why Jesus came. And what is very clear is that Jesus did not come to make life difficult or miserable, He came to bring to us the blessing of heaven.
Jesus came to bring the goodness of heaven into our lives and there are multitude, I would like to share with you today some of them.
- Jesus came to bring us the blessing of knowing God and His great love for us.
- Jesus came to bring us the blessing of being ransomed from a life of slavery to sin and Satan.
- Jesus came to bring us the blessing of the abundant life.
- Jesus came to bring us the blessing of becoming a child of God.
As we realize just how blessed we are in Jesus, let us worship Him more, love Him more, serve Him more, and talk about Him to others more.
God bless you all.
